On Saturday October 7th, VFW Post # 9592 participated in the Levittown Chamber of Commerce’s Fall Family Festival. The Post was one of many community groups and vendors that were present manning tables in St Bernard’s Gym to either show case their organization or sell their products. VFW Post # 9592 provided information about the VFW, Membership eligibility and Veteran’s Benefits. The Post also had pictures for coloring and writing notes to our troops overseas. This was a big hit with the children, who created some incredible works of art for our men and women serving abroad. There were some adults who participated as well. Poppies were also distributed by members of the Post to the passing visitors.
During the course of the day, which went from 10am-4pm, many people stopped by the table to inquire about the VFW or just to say hello. Thanks to the motivated members of the Post who engaged those with questions, all left with a better knowledge of the VFW‘s Purpose, Mission, Vision and Goals. Some of the many visitors to the table included Jack Martins-Candidate for Nassau County Executive, Laura Gillen-Candidate for Hempstead Town Supervisor, John Ferretti Jr.-Candidate for Nassau County Legislature 15thDistrict, Sue Moller-Candidate for Hemsptead Town Council, Anthony Paradiso-Candidate for District Court Judge and the Honorable Robert E. Pipia-Current District Court Judge. VFW Post # 9592 thanks everyone for stopping by to talk with the Post members.
VFW Post # 9592 would like to thank the Veterans and Auxiliary of the Post who gave of their valuable time to assist the Commander, Matthew DeGregorio and Senior Vice Commander and Membership Committee Chairman, Peter Stasinski in participating in this community event. Comrade Jim Randazzo, Comrade Mitchell Jimenez, Madam President Pat Nocerino, Senior Vice President Linda Heckman and Auxiliary member Jim Nocerino, your selfless devotion to the VFW helped the Post successfully achieve its goals for this evolution.
Finally, VFW Post 9592 would like to thank the Levittown Chamber of Commerce, especially Louise Cassano, Don Patane and Tara Cassano, for holding the Fall Family Festival which allowed us to show case the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Post # 9592.
