On Monday May 26, 2025, Levittown, New York will hold its annual Memorial Day Parade followed by a Remembrance Ceremony.
THE LARGEST MEMORIAL DAY PARADE ON LONG ISLAND
The parade will begin at 10 A.M. SHARP! from in front of Island Trees Middle School located at Wantagh Ave. and Hempstead Turnpike. All participants will line up on Wantagh Ave.
The parade will make a left turn onto Hempstead Turnpike from Wantagh Ave. and continue west on Hempstead Turnpike for approximately 2 miles to Shelter Lane.
At Hempstead Turnpike and Shelter Lane, the parade will turn left onto Shelter Lane and continue south pass the reviewing stand located across from Levittown Veterans Memorial Park.
PARTICIPANTS
Participants in the Parade will include, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9592, American Legion Post 1711, Museum of American Armor, Levittown School District, Island Trees School District, Levittown Fire Department, Wantagh-Levittown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Levittown Community Council, Levittown Chamber of Commerce, St. Bernards Roman Catholic Church and other government, civic and community organizations.
REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY
Upon completion of the parade, Levittown will hold a Remembrance Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park which will include, the National Anthem, remarks by the Commanders of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9592, American Legion Post 1711 and local officials, the presentation of the Memorial Wreaths, Raising of the American Flag, a Rifle Salute and finally the playing of Taps.
VFW POST 9592 and AMERICAN LEGION POST 1711 encourages all parade participants and spectators to remain after the parade for the Remembrance Ceremony as Levittown honors those American servicemembers who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of freedom and liberty. They invite you to take time to visit the monuments in the park that pay tribute to those who gave their lives in the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War and the Global War on Terror. - Operation Iraqi Freedom.
