75th ANNIVERSARY MILITARY BALL & PARTY
On Thursday April 27, 2023, VFW Post 9592 held its 75th Anniversary Ceremony & Military Ball at
The Sterling located at 345 Hicksville Road, Bethpage, NY 11714. This invitation only formal event featured a Cocktail Hour followed by an Anniversary Ceremony and then Dining and Dancing.

* VFW Post 9592's Charter was signed on April 24, 1948.
* VFW Post 9592's first Post Commander was John J. Upton, Private US Army, WWII.
* VFW Post 9592 held its first Military Ball on November 6, 1948, at the Bethpage State Park Clubhouse.
* The first tickets to VFW Post 9592"s 1948 Military Ball went to Boxing Champion
Barney David Ross, Sergeant, USMC, Silver Star Recipient (Guadalcanal).
* Meetings were first held at a Masonic Lodge located in Hicksville.

Raymond Barbuti, 2x Gold Medal Winner at the 1928 Summer Olympics and Veteran of WWII (Air Medal and Bronze Star recipient), was a guest speaker at a Post General Meeting in 1948.
