VFW Post 9592 held its Regular Membership Meeting on Friday January 14, 2022, and in addition to the normal course of business, the Post held an election for the position of Junior Vice Commander. The election was held outside of the regular VFW election cycle because of the untimely passing in December of the current Junior Vice Commander, Ian Patrick Lennon.

Comrade Commander, Kevin Vargas-Colon, after suspending regular business, opened the floor to nominations resulting in two candidates. The Commander, with the assistance of the Adjutant and Quartermaster, oversaw the election and the ballot count. He then announced that Comrade Kevin Honig, the Post's current Scout Liaison Committee Chairman was elected by the membership present to fill the position of Junior Vice Commander.

Kevin Honig, seen here taking the Oath of Office administered by the Commander, is a Navy Veteran who earned his eligibility by serving in the Persian Gulf where he was awarded an Expeditionary Medal.
